Traditional Laz horon dance on the Black Sea coast

This video captures a spectacular horon dance performance during a traditional festival in Ardeu015fen, one of the main Laz towns in Rize province. The dancers perform the fast-paced Laz horon, accompanied by the tulum (bagpipe) and davul (drum).

The horon is the most iconic dance of the Laz people, characterized by its extremely fast tempo, tight formations, and energetic shoulder movements. This particular performance showcases the Ardeu015fen style, known for its speed and precision.

The video is part of our Visual Archive, which aims to document and preserve the living cultural traditions of the Laz people.
